Man in His 60s Killed by Reversing Truck at Jinju Namgang Construction Site ... Driver in His 20s Booked
A truck driver who struck and killed a pedestrian at the Namgang riverside maintenance construction site in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, has been booked by the police.
The Jinju Police Station announced on December 1 that it has booked a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of involuntary manslaughter.
According to the police, at around 11:20 a.m. on November 29, Mr. A was reversing a truck at the Namgang riverside maintenance construction site located behind the Jinju Intercity Bus Terminal in Jangdae-dong, Jinju, when he struck and killed Mr. B, a man in his 60s, who was behind the vehicle.
Mr. B was immediately transported to a hospital following the accident but ultimately passed away.
The construction work has reportedly been suspended since the accident.
Mr. A reportedly stated that he "did not see the man properly."
