Wanju County Holds 'One-Day Forest Management Experience Event'
Gamdol Forest Park, a Neighborhood Park in the Sambong District of Wanju
Wanju County in North Jeolla Province held a "One-Day Forest Management Experience Event" at Gamdol Forest Park, a neighborhood park within the Sambong District, on November 28 to mark the "Forest Management Period."
According to the county on December 1, a total of 24 participants, including forestry department officials from Wanju County Office and staff from the Wanju County Forestry Cooperative, took part in the event. They carried out maintenance work by applying forest-use solid compound fertilizer to approximately 300 trees planted in Gamdol Forest Park.
The participants carefully inspected the health of the trees in the park, meticulously checking for signs of pest infestations, damage, and the presence of dead or dying trees.
Gamdol Forest Park, where the forest management experience took place, is a neighborhood park featuring 2,422 tall trees of 21 species-including eastern white pine, fir, and zelkova-and 34,620 shrubs of 16 species, such as boxwood and Japanese spindle.
By expanding green spaces within the Sambong District, the park provides residents with a pleasant environment for relaxation and plays an important role in improving both residential and work environments.
