Stray Kids Achieve Eighth Consecutive No. 1 on U.S. Billboard Albums Chart...A First in 70-Year History
Stray Kids have achieved their eighth consecutive No. 1 on the main U.S. Billboard albums chart, the Billboard 200, with "SKZ IT TAPE" and its title track "DO IT," according to their agency JYP Entertainment on December 1.
According to a Billboard preview article dated November 30 (local time), the album, released on November 21, sold approximately 295,000 copies in its first week in the United States, topping the Billboard 200 chart for the week of December 6.
With this achievement, Stray Kids have now reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 a total of eight times as a group. This marks the first time in Billboard chart history, since tracking began in March 1956, that a group has debuted all eight of their releases at No. 1. It is also the highest number of Billboard 200 No. 1s for any group in the 2000s.
Stray Kids have recorded the seventh-highest album sales, following Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, The Weeknd, Sabrina Carpenter, their fourth studio album "KARMA," and Playboi Carti. Their performance on the Billboard 200, maintaining the No. 1 spot for seven consecutive weeks, ranks just behind Taylor Swift's record.
On the UK Official Chart's Trending Chart, the double title tracks "DO IT" and "Sinseonnoreum" ranked No. 5 and No. 9 respectively, while the album track "Holiday" placed at No. 18. On the latest Official Singles Chart Top 100, "DO IT" debuted at No. 35, marking the group's seventh entry into the chart. On Australia's ARIA TOP 50 Singles Chart, they achieved the highest ranking for a K-pop artist this year, reaching No. 10.
