[Photo] Coupang Data Breach Affects 33.7 Million Users
A massive personal information leak involving over 30 million cases has occurred at Coupang. This is the worst data breach in history, exceeding the 29.69 million people in the economically active population. On December 1, a Coupang signboard installed at the company's headquarters is seen in the background after Coupang sent an apology text message regarding the personal information leak. Since June, hackers accessing Coupang's customer database via overseas servers had been stealing information, but it was not discovered until November. The initial report cited 4,536 cases, but upon review the next day, it was found to be an enormous scale exceeding the 24.7 million active customers.
