Busan Office of Education Wins Grand Prize at School Health Promotion Program Contest
"H-Bridge Health Ladder" Program Selected as a National Model Case
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) achieved a remarkable feat by being selected as the top education office nationwide, winning the grand prize at the School Health Promotion Program Best Practices Contest.
According to the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education on December 1, the office received the Minister of Education Award, the highest honor, at the "16th School Health Promotion Education Activities Best Practices Contest 2025" held on November 24.
This contest, hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Korea Institute for Educational Environment Protection, aims to discover and share outstanding cases of student health promotion education activities nationwide.
The award-winning case from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education was the "H-Bridge Health Ladder: Customized Student Health Promotion Connected by Schools and the Educational Community" program. The program was highly praised for diagnosing students' health status and issues, and for establishing a multi-dimensional support system that connects schools and local communities.
Notable best practices included: ▲ An experiential substance abuse prevention project that combines culture and arts-based education with gaming, and ▲ A support program for students with type 1 diabetes that strengthens consensus among school members and networks with professional organizations.
The Ministry of Education plans to compile these best practices, including the case from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, into a booklet to be distributed to metropolitan and provincial offices of education and related organizations nationwide, and to utilize them for public purposes such as policy materials, educational resources, and promotional content.
