Hwasun County's 'Mirimiri Christmas Vol. 2' Festival Concludes Successfully
31,000 Visitors Drawn to the Festival
Wagle Wagle Night Market and Other Attractions Prove Popular
The Hwasun County Culture and Tourism Foundation announced that the '2025 Mirimiri Christmas Vol. 2' festival, held from November 21 to 23 at Namsan Park and the area around the Dolmen Traditional Market, concluded successfully.
According to the foundation on November 28, approximately 31,000 people visited the festival. The event was organized under the concept of "Enjoying Christmas a Month Early," with Namsan Park transformed into a winter garden filled with sparkling trees and lights. Both day and night, the park offered unforgettable and beautiful scenery that captivated visitors.
The 'Mirimiri Christmas Market,' which served as the festival's main attraction, featured a wide variety of crafts for sale, including Christmas ornaments, snow globes, tree decorations, and Santa music boxes. At the food booths, local Hwasun food trucks and vendors offered winter dishes from around the world, such as mulled wine and barbecue, delighting the taste buds of attendees.
In addition, the "Wagle Wagle Night Market - The Third Night" was held for two days around the Dolmen Traditional Market, adding to the excitement of the nighttime festivities. On the main stage at Namsan Park and in the busking zone, performances in various genres-including jazz, magic, circus acts, mime, and dance-were held daily from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Crown Marching Band Parade, held twice daily on November 22 and 23, became the highlight of the festival with the band and dance team marching to Christmas carols and showcasing dazzling choreography.
This year's festival featured a wide array of interactive programs, such as photo zones, a stamp tour, and a wishing tree. The classic carousel for children was especially popular, offering warm, storybook-like moments for families and receiving much love from visitors.
This year, there was a significant increase in family visits with children, filling the festival grounds with smiles and laughter. Scenes of children participating in hands-on booths, taking commemorative photos, and enjoying the carousel have become a signature image of the festival.
Parents expressed their satisfaction, saying, "We never imagined winter in Hwasun could be this dynamic with our children," reflecting the enthusiastic response from family visitors. The festival is being praised as a "family-friendly winter festival" that resonates with people of all ages.
