Jongkundang Launches High-Potency Vitamin 'Benfobel Eye Soft Capsules' for Eye Health
On November 26, Jongkundang launched 'Benfobel Eye Soft Capsules,' a high-potency vitamin supplement for eye health.
Benfobel Eye Soft Capsules are a new addition to Jongkundang's high-potency active vitamin brand, 'Benfobel.' The formula is enhanced with cod liver oil, beta-carotene, and chondroitin to simultaneously relieve dry eyes, eye fatigue, night blindness, and physical fatigue. The product contains the maximum daily dose (100 mg) of benfotiamine, which helps alleviate eye fatigue, as well as nicotinamide, which is effective in preserving vision. With a once-daily, single-capsule dosage, it offers greater convenience compared to existing cod liver oil-based eye supplements, which typically require two capsules per day.
The average daily vitamin A intake among Korean adults aged 19 and older is 387.8 micrograms RAE (Retinol Activity Equivalents), which is less than 50% of the recommended intake (800 micrograms RAE for men aged 19-49). As of 2024, the number of people suffering from dry eye syndrome has reached 2.42 million, making vitamin A intake for eye health management increasingly important.

A representative from Jongkundang stated, "While lutein, commonly taken for eye health, is a preventive health supplement, Benfobel Eye is a general pharmaceutical product that has been proven to directly relieve symptoms such as dry eyes and eye fatigue. It will benefit everyone from students and office workers who frequently use electronic devices to menopausal women and middle-aged adults who are more prone to dry eye syndrome."
