Gyeongju City and Wolsong Nuclear Power Achieve 'Mutual Growth for Macstor Expansion'... Securing 28 Billion Won in Support Funds
Entire Fund to Be Invested in Four-Year Road Construction Between Bomun and Gujeong
Commuting, School Travel, and Ulsan-Gyeongju Area Exchange Expected to Expand
Gyeongju City announced on November 26 that it had signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Provision of Mutual Growth Support Funds in Connection with the Expansion of the Macstor Facility" with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Wolsong Nuclear Power Headquarters (headed by Kwon Wontak), thereby securing 28 billion won in mutual growth support funds.
This agreement is regarded as a meaningful achievement, as it establishes a foundation for sustainable development shared by both the local community and the nuclear power plant.

The project will be implemented in phases over the next four years, and once the road is completed, travel time from Ulsan to the Bomun Tourist Complex is expected to be significantly reduced.
Despite ongoing expansion in exchanges between the Ulsan and Gyeongju living areas, inconvenient access has persisted due to limitations in the existing road network.
The city expects that the construction of the new road will dramatically improve access to the Bomun Tourist Complex and generate a virtuous cycle of local economic revitalization through increased tourism and commercial activity.
In addition, conditions for daily commuting and school travel are also expected to improve significantly, thereby enhancing the overall residential environment for citizens.
