This discussion was organized to verify the feasibility of detailed business plans developed by working groups for the Authority's "five core tasks" (Arctic route development, AI management, AI port operation, eco-friendly port, and smart drones).
In particular, participants engaged in heated debates over specific technology adoption issues, including the introduction of unmanned autonomous transport equipment (IGV) at container terminals, the establishment of an eco-friendly CCUS (carbon capture, utilization, and storage) cluster, the development of an AI-based integrated port logistics platform, and the adoption of smart AI port drones.
Additionally, while there was consensus on the importance of introducing AI-based port operation technologies and expanding eco-friendly infrastructure projects to enhance the competitiveness of Yeosu Gwangyang Port, participants also discussed in depth a range of issues from various perspectives. These included whether the discovery of new businesses would make a substantial contribution to the Authority's international competitiveness and future growth engines, the specific implementation procedures for each project, expected effectiveness, and analysis of best practices in advanced countries.
