"Apples Instead of Alcohol, Smiles Instead of Cigarettes"... Cheongsong County Holds Alcohol- and Smoke-Free School Morning Campaign
Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Yoon Kyunghee) held a "Morning Campaign for the Prevention of Alcohol and Smoking-Related Harm" at three local middle and high schools from November 20 to November 26, in recognition of November as Alcohol Harm Prevention Month.
The campaign began at Jinbo Middle and High School and aimed to inform school-age youth about the importance of abstaining from alcohol and smoking, as well as to support the formation of proper values, thereby preventing various harms caused by drinking and smoking.
The campaign was conducted during students' arrival times and involved the Cheongsong County Public Health Center, student councils from each school, and faculty members.
Participants in the campaign encouraged students to practice moderation in drinking and to quit smoking through a variety of activities, such as attaching "Please Take Care of Our Family's Health (Moderation & No Smoking)" stickers, watching videos related to moderation and smoking cessation, and distributing informational leaflets.
