Strategies for Each Stage of Corporate Growth Presented Amid IPO Market Recovery
Samjong KPMG announced on the 27th that it held the "10th IPO (Initial Public Offering) Success Strategy Seminar" at POSCO Tower Yeoksam in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 26th.
By the third quarter of this year, the IPO and stock markets showed signs of recovery, particularly driven by successful large-scale IPOs and new growth industries such as information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), and digital assets. This seminar was organized to share investment attraction strategies tailored to each stage of growth for companies preparing for an IPO.
The event was attended by 220 participants from 136 companies. In addition to Samjong KPMG, related organizations such as the Korea Exchange and Leeseong Technology Strategy participated, providing a variety of practical content.

He predicted that next year's IPO market would see a further strengthening of profitability-focused corporate valuation standards, and anticipated that the gradual recovery of the global IPO market could have a positive impact on the domestic market as well.
Oh Jinseong, Manager at the Korea Exchange, discussed recent IPO system improvement measures, focusing on changes to the supervisory and review framework such as strengthening the eligibility review for listings, establishing early delisting systems for underperforming companies, improving the designated auditor system, and enhancing the reliability of technology-special listing evaluations. He emphasized that, to achieve reasonable corporate valuations, it is necessary to conduct pre-verification and refine internal management systems across accounting, technology, and management from the early stages of IPO preparation.
Kim Jaejoong, Executive Director at Samjong KPMG, presented key accounting and audit issues that companies face during the designated audit process, using case studies. He addressed topics such as internal controls related to revenue recognition, ensuring the appropriateness of major asset valuations, and reviewing accounting treatments for new businesses and overseas subsidiaries, highlighting frequent issues and response strategies at the designated audit stage.
Lee Jinyeon, Managing Director at Samjong KPMG, introduced step-by-step investment attraction strategies for companies pursuing an IPO. He identified the key messages that should be communicated to investors at each stage of corporate growth and provided a detailed explanation of the main evaluation indicators by investor type, such as venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) firms. He also presented effective corporate strategies through domestic IPO success and failure cases.
Park Junyoung, Patent Attorney at Leeseong Technology Strategy, explained strategies for responding to technical evaluations for successful technology-special listings. He outlined practical preparation items that technology companies must address, including methods for quantifying technological differentiation, responding to differences in standards among evaluation agencies, and establishing internal control processes to manage technological risks.
Meanwhile, Samjong KPMG officially launched its "IPO Support Center" this year, establishing an integrated support system that covers the entire cycle from early-stage unlisted companies to pre-IPO companies and post-listing firms. Led by Kang Inhye, Managing Director of Audit at Samjong KPMG, the center brings together experts in audit, tax, M&A (mergers and acquisitions), and valuation (stock price relative to corporate value) to provide customized support for companies.
