1Q US Nasdaq 100 US Treasury Mixed 50 Active ETF Surpasses 100 Billion Won in Net Assets
Hana Asset Management announced on the 27th that the net asset value of its "second-generation" bond-mixed ETF, the 1Q US Nasdaq 100 US Treasury Mixed 50 Active ETF, surpassed 100 billion won in just about two months since its listing.
The 1Q US Nasdaq 100 US Treasury Mixed 50 Active ETF is a "second-generation" bond-mixed ETF that incorporates up to 50% of the Nasdaq 100, reflecting the revised retirement pension supervisory regulations implemented on November 16, 2023. The remaining 50% is invested in short-term US Treasury bonds, allowing for 100% investment through retirement pension (DC, IRP) and personal pension accounts. This ETF qualifies as a safe asset for retirement pensions.
It is considered suitable for strategies that seek to actively increase the proportion of the Nasdaq 100 within retirement pension (DC/IRP) accounts to enhance expected returns. According to regulations, retirement pension accounts must allocate 30% of total assets to safe assets such as bond-mixed ETFs, savings deposits, and bonds, with the remaining 70% permitted for investment in risk assets such as equities.
By allocating the 1Q US Nasdaq 100 US Treasury Mixed 50 Active ETF within the 30% safe asset portion, and the "1Q US Nasdaq 100" ETF-which has the lowest fees among domestically listed Nasdaq 100 ETFs-within the 70% risk asset portion, investors can effectively allocate up to 85% of their overall portfolio to the Nasdaq 100.
This ETF has attracted inflows not only from investors aiming to increase equity exposure within the 30% safe asset portion of their retirement pension accounts, but also from those seeking steady and stable returns through bond-mixed products amid recent market volatility.
Hana Asset Management completed its series of US benchmark index ETFs for pension investors this year by listing ▲1Q US S&P 500 ▲1Q US S&P 500 US Treasury Mixed 50 Active ▲1Q US Nasdaq 100 ▲1Q US Nasdaq 100 US Treasury Mixed 50 Active.
CEO Kim Taewoo introduced the 1Q US Nasdaq 100 US Treasury Mixed 50 ETF as "an optimal product for pension investment, as it enables diversification into both US tech and US short-term Treasuries with a single investment."
