The Korean Society of Animal Health, which is directly connected to the health of 15 million pet-owning households, is drawing attention from the academic community.
Shin Ho Lee, a professor at Dongmyung University and the current president of the society, has been reappointed for another term, further highlighting his leadership in the field.
The Korean Society of Animal Health (President Shin Ho Lee, Professor at Dongmyung University) held its 2025 Autumn Academic Conference on November 23 at the main auditorium of Dongmyung University in Busan, under the theme "Paradigm of Companion Animal Health: Practice and Strategies of Clinical Nursing."

As the recent academic conference has been recognized as an elective training program for veterinary nurses, there was active participation from both current veterinary nurses and students in related academic departments.
On this day, Professor Han Saemyung (Semyung University) delivered a lecture on "Nursing Interventions and Nutritional Support for Patients with Renal Failure," while Professor Kim Hyangmi (Digital Seoul Culture Arts University) spoke on "Nutrition and Appetite Management for Hospitalized Animals."
Lectures also focused on rehabilitation therapy, animal behavior science, and the professional ethics and roles of veterinary nurses. Professor Cho Yongho (Daegu Haany University) presented on "The Effects and Application Methods of Electrotherapy," and President Kim Suyeon (Korean Veterinary Nurses Association) gave a lecture on "Invisible Suffering, Unspoken Pain: The Role and Practical Strategies of Veterinary Nurses."
Professor Shin Ho Lee (Dongmyung University) interpreted the rehabilitative effects of dog-human relationships from a neuroscience perspective in his presentation "Co-running: The Neuroscience of Dog-Human." A student research team (Dongmyung University) concluded the conference by presenting the results of a survey on "MBTI Tendencies of Dog Owners in Their 20s in Busan."
A society official stated, "In addition to sharing practice-oriented strategies, this event served as a platform for active communication and development among animal health professionals nationwide. It is especially meaningful in terms of strengthening practical knowledge and competencies that can be utilized in clinical settings."
In his keynote address, President Shin Ho Lee emphasized, "In the rapidly changing companion animal healthcare market, the role of veterinary nurses goes beyond simple assistance; it now requires practical nursing competencies, expertise, and proactive strategies that can be immediately applied in clinical settings."
