Mayor Lee stated, "December is a time when we must both wrap up this year's projects and prepare for next year," and requested, "Please pay close attention to both ongoing projects and next year's plans to ensure that no issues arise from omissions or lack of preparation."
He also commented on the recent awards received in various fields as the year draws to a close, saying, "Thanks to continuous efforts in each sector, we have achieved results in job creation, housing welfare, climate and environment, health and welfare, and more." He added, "I would like to thank the employees who have elevated the status of our city, and I ask that you continue to achieve meaningful outcomes that citizens can truly feel."
Mayor Lee went on to say, "The case of Goyang Sports Complex, which hosted 18 large-scale performances this year and attracted about 700,000 visitors, generating 10.9 billion won in revenue, is truly an 'administrative revolution.'" He continued, "All these achievements, including tomorrow's groundbreaking ceremony for the Anchor Hotel and the start of main construction on KINTEX Exhibition Hall 3 next month, are coming together to drive a major leap forward for Goyang." He further requested, "Please continue to create even greater synergy through administrative innovation."
Additionally, regarding the '2040 Future City Goyang' strategy presented at last week's public hearing on the '2040 Goyang Urban Master Plan,' Mayor Lee explained, "This is a strategy to transform the city from quantitative growth centered on housing to a future-oriented self-sufficient city with a balanced focus on industry, jobs, transportation, and the environment." He emphasized, "Please ensure that this becomes an actionable plan that citizens can experience, by thoroughly explaining it to the public and actively gathering diverse opinions."
Afterward, Mayor Lee received reports on various year-end events scheduled for December, including communication meetings, various briefings, and award ceremonies, and checked on their progress.
