Naver Acquires Cenacle Following InBody Investment... Strengthening 'Digital Healthcare' Business
Securing EMR, the Core Infrastructure of Medical Institutions
"Enhancing AI-Assisted Care and Service Stability"
Naver has acquired Cenacle to strengthen its healthcare business. On November 26, Naver Cloud announced that it had made an additional investment in Cenacle, in which it already held an 8.8% stake, thereby securing its position as the largest shareholder.
Cenacle provides cloud-based EMR (Electronic Medical Record) services for primary care institutions through "Orem Chart," as well as the patient health management application "Kle." A key feature is its focus on a wide range of medical specialties, including internal medicine, otolaryngology, and pediatrics.
In September, Cenacle was recognized for its technological capabilities by being selected as one of the "World's Best HealthTech Companies 2025" by TIME and global data specialist Statista.
This year, Team Naver has been pushing into the AI-based healthcare platform market by investing in JNPMEDI, a leading domestic clinical trial platform company, and InBody, the global leader in body composition analysis. In particular, discussions with InBody include advancing senior care and developing data-driven, ultra-personalized healthcare solutions.
Choi Inhyuk, Head of Naver Tech Business, stated, "Together with Cenacle, which boasts both technological excellence and platform scalability, we will drive new innovation in all aspects of work within medical institutions and in connecting with external organizations, based on EMR, the core infrastructure of healthcare providers."
