At the competition, Hwaseong City won the Excellence Award for its case titled, "Regulatory Innovation Captures Both EV Charging and Fire Prevention!" This initiative allowed the installation of electric vehicle charging facilities in parks with only an occupancy permit, following an amendment to the Urban Parks and Green Spaces Act. In addition, the city proposed strengthening the safety features of electric vehicle batteries, prompting the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to establish new guidelines.
