Korea-ASEAN SMEs Sign 20 MOUs on Technology Transfer Cooperation
Korea-ASEAN Global Technology Transfer Partners Day
Aiming to Strengthen Cooperation Models Beyond Technology Transfer
A total of 20 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) on technology transfer cooperation have been signed between domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local companies in ASEAN countries. Both sides aim to strengthen a technology cooperation model that goes beyond technology transfer and leads to joint ventures and other forms of collaboration.
On November 26, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it had hosted the 'Korea-ASEAN Global Technology Transfer Partners Day.' This event was organized to promote technology cooperation between domestic SMEs and local companies in ASEAN countries, specifically Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.
On site, a total of 20 MOUs on technology transfer cooperation were signed between the two sides. Last year, the foundation for cooperation was established by signing six MOUs centered on Vietnam. This year, the scope of cooperation was expanded to include three major ASEAN countries, thereby extending the technology cooperation network throughout the ASEAN region.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups expects that this event will help strengthen an 'international technology cooperation model based on mutual growth,' which goes beyond simple technology transfer to include joint ventures and local commercialization.
