The Korea Institute of Local Administration (President: Yuk Dongil) announced on November 25 that it will hold the "Regional Revitalization Forum - Strategies to Enhance Vitality in Hoengseong Area" at 2 p.m. on November 27 in the main conference room on the third floor of Hoengseong County Office.

View original imageThis forum has been organized to explore Hoengseong County's capacity and potential for regional innovation, focusing on "Sustainable Regional Development Policy Directions and Revitalization of the Local Economy in Rural Areas Amid Population Decline."
The event is jointly hosted by the Korea Institute of Local Administration, Hoengseong County, and the Seoul Office of CLAIR (Council of Local Authorities for International Relations, Japan). The opening ceremony will feature welcoming remarks by Yuk Dongil, President of the Korea Institute of Local Administration, followed by a greeting from Kim Myungki, Mayor of Hoengseong County, and congratulatory speeches from Pyo Hansang, Chairman of the Hoengseong County Council, and Fujita Etsuo, Director of CLAIR Seoul Office.
The keynote presentations will include: Professor Shigeyuki Miyabayashi of Tokyo University of Agriculture on "Regional Revitalization and Watershed Exchange & Cooperation in Japan (Exchange and Cooperation between Urban and Rural Areas)"; Fujita Etsuo, Director of CLAIR Seoul Office, on "Regional Creation Initiatives in Miyazaki Prefecture (Job Creation in Rural Areas)"; and Yang Wontak, Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Local Administration, on "Strategies to Enhance Sustainable Regional Vitality Based on the Characteristics of the Resident Population: Focusing on Hoengseong County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province."
The subsequent comprehensive panel discussion will bring together experts from academia, research institutes, the media, and local governments to engage in in-depth discussions on resident-led regional revitalization in rural communities.
