Hyungji Recruits Former Doosan Executive Lee Jungil as President and Head of Future Business
Strengthening Next-Generation New Business Initiatives
On November 25, Hyungji announced that it has recruited Lee Jungil as President and Head of Future Business to strengthen the group and its key affiliates' mid- to long-term growth strategies.
As a result, it is expected that next-generation new business initiatives, led by Hyungji Elite, will gain significant momentum.

View original imageLee Jungil, the newly appointed president, passed the 1992 Higher Civil Service Examination (Legal Administration) and graduated as part of the 36th class from the training institute. He began his public service career as an administrative officer at the Economic Planning Board and worked for 14 years at the Korea Fair Trade Commission. He is a 36th class training institute peer of Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeonggwan, Chief Trade Negotiator Yeo Hankoo, and Vice Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Hyungil.
After his public service, he joined Doosan Group, where he served as an executive for about 10 years and contributed to major mergers and acquisitions (M&A) such as Doosan Bobcat and Doosan Babcock. He is especially recognized for playing a key role in new business expansion and global business restructuring. Doosan drew attention in the business community by successfully acquiring major overseas companies such as Doosan Robotics and Doosan Skoda Power.
Additionally, he led the Shared Growth Support Team, overseeing fair trade and win-win cooperation activities with partner companies, and served as a member of the Terms and Conditions Dispute Mediation Council at the Korea Fair Trade Mediation Agency.
This recruitment is part of Hyungji Group's strategy to secure future growth engines. In particular, Lee is expected to make significant contributions to expanding Hyungji Elite's AI- and robot-based workwear and specialized clothing business into domestic and international markets. Through this, the advancement and global expansion of cutting-edge convergence businesses such as AI wearable robots, workwear, and specialized clothing are expected to accelerate further.
Furthermore, based on his experience at Doosan Enerbility, Lee is expected to add momentum to Hyungji Elite's ongoing research on renewable and eco-friendly energy and the establishment of carbon reduction technology infrastructure through a joint research institute with Ghent University Global Campus in Belgium. He is also expected to play a key role in generating results for the 'Horizon' Europe research project, which is a collaborative effort among industry, academia, research, and government sectors.
