Russia Says It Has Not Yet Received Results of US-Ukraine Geneva Talks
As the United States and Ukraine discussed Ukraine's peace plan in Geneva, Switzerland, it has been reported that Russia has not yet received any detailed information regarding the matter.
According to TASS and RIA Novosti on the 24th (local time), Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Kremlin, stated during a briefing that "We have not officially received anything yet" regarding the peace initiative discussed by the United States, Ukraine, and European countries in Geneva the previous day.
Spokesperson Peskov said, "I have read the statements issued after the meeting in Geneva," adding that, based on media reports, he is aware that the original draft of the plan prepared by the United States was adjusted during the talks.
The United States and Ukraine, in a joint statement the previous day, announced that they had prepared an "updated and refined peace framework," suggesting that the original draft, which was said to reflect many of Russia's positions, may have been revised to include Ukraine's stance.
Peskov stated, "We will wait, as it is clear that dialogue is ongoing and contacts will continue." He further emphasized, "It is impossible and inappropriate to discuss these matters through the media," making it clear that he would not discuss the details of the U.S. peace plan.
