Police Urgently Arrest Suspect in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul Apartment Fire
A man in his 70s was urgently arrested after setting a fire in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
On November 24, the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul announced that it had urgently arrested a person associated with the apartment, identified as Mr. A (76), on charges of gross negligence arson at around 6:30 p.m. on November 21.
Mr. A is suspected of committing arson in the waste paper collection area on the first floor of the apartment at approximately 5:33 a.m. on November 21.
The fire was completely extinguished at around 8:00 a.m., about two hours and thirty minutes later, and 52 residents, including those who had only inhaled smoke, were transported to the hospital.

The police have applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A, and as of 10:30 a.m. on the same day, a pretrial detention hearing is underway at the Seoul Southern District Court.
