One Dead in Fire at Anseong Corrugated Cardboard Factory
Main Fire Contained in About 1 Hour and 40 Minutes

At around 11:34 a.m. on November 23, a fire broke out at a corrugated cardboard manufacturing plant located in Wongok-myeon, Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, resulting in one fatality.
Immediately after the fire, the fire authorities issued Response Level 1-a warning that mobilizes 31 to 50 pieces of equipment from 3 to 7 fire stations-citing concerns about potential casualties. They deployed 37 pieces of equipment and 111 personnel to extinguish the blaze, bringing the main fire under control and lifting the emergency alert at approximately 1:17 p.m., about one hour and forty minutes later.
During the subsequent search for people, they discovered the body of a man in his 60s, believed to be a worker at the site.

The fire authorities stated that, aside from those who had evacuated to a neighboring factory dormitory, they had been searching for one person who was unaccounted for when they found the deceased inside the building. They plan to maintain the current level of fire response, continue extinguishing remaining embers, and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby forested areas.
