President Lee Departs for T?rkiye, the Final Destination of His Tour
President Lee Jaemyung, who is attending the Group of Twenty (G20) Summit in South Africa, will once again present his vision for international cooperation in response to the era of artificial intelligence (AI) during the second day of the summit on November 23 (local time), following the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju.
President Lee is scheduled to participate in the third session of the summit, held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in the morning, under the theme "A Fair and Just Future for All." This is the final official session of the G20 Summit.
According to the Office of the President, President Lee plans to emphasize the necessity of international cooperation on technological innovation and artificial intelligence transformation (AX) at this session. In particular, he is expected to again reference the "Global AI Basic Society" initiative, which was agreed upon at the recent APEC Summit where Korea served as the chair. In the afternoon, he will also attend a luncheon meeting with the local Korean community in South Africa.

After the meeting with the Korean community, President Lee will conclude his schedule in South Africa and depart for T?rkiye, the final destination of his Middle East and Africa tour. In T?rkiye, President Lee is expected to hold a summit with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the defense and nuclear energy sectors.
