View original imageAccording to Jeonju University on the 21st, this contest was organized as part of the RISE project, aiming to encourage international students to document and share their daily lives and campus experiences at Jeonju University in vlog format.
Participating students captured real aspects of university life, such as classes, club activities, and the use of campus facilities, in videos lasting three to five minutes. Through this initiative, Jeonju University and the local community sought to create a platform for more vivid and empathetic communication by understanding the perspectives and emotions of international students.
More than 50 international students participated in this highly competitive contest. As a result of the judging, the grand prize was awarded to Gwak Seongnam from China. The gold prize went to Teresa Ze Sai from Myanmar, the silver prize to Nguyen Thi Chuc and Tran Hu Huong from Vietnam, and the encouragement prize to Tamang Juna from Nepal, along with 11 other students.
During the award ceremony organized by the Jeonju University Office of International Affairs, the winning vlogs were screened, and the heartfelt stories of the international students deeply moved and resonated with the audience.
Gwak Seongnam (Graduate School, Department of Art Psychotherapy), the grand prize winner from China, said, "Thanks to this activity, I have found more joy in recording the beauty of everyday life, and it has given me a deeper sense of gratitude for life itself. Through this event, international students were able to share their experiences and gain a deeper understanding and connection with one another."
An official from the Jeonju University Office of International Affairs stated, "Through SNS-based vlog content, we were able to convey the daily lives of international students living in Korea in a more detailed and vivid manner. We plan to continue sharing the bright and positive university culture of our international students with the local community through various contests and review programs in the future."

The official added, "We will continue to expand diverse support programs to enhance the capabilities of international students and strengthen our cooperation system with the local community to create a more systematic support environment. The content from this contest will also be actively used for overseas promotion to widely publicize the city as an excellent destination for studying abroad."
