Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo Visits Lawmakers to Request 'National Funding Support' for Key City Projects
Requests Include Support for Public Children's Rehabilitation Hospital Operations
and Creation of Webtoon IP Advanced Cluster

View original imageOn November 20, Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, visited the National Assembly to meet with both ruling and opposition lawmakers and requested "national funding support" for Daejeon's key projects for the coming year.
He began by meeting with Han Byungdo, Chairman of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, Lee Jaegwan, a member representing the Chungnam region on the subcommittee, and subcommittee members Kang Seunggyu, Kim Daesik, Kim Kiwoong, and Cho Junghoon. He then visited the subcommittee meeting room in the main building, where he appealed to all 15 subcommittee members for active support for Daejeon's major ongoing projects.

View original imageAfterwards, he visited the offices of People Power Party lawmakers Yoon Jaeok, Yoon Youngseok, Kim Heejung, Jeong Jeomsik, Kim Miae, Seo Jiyeong, and Park Juntae, as well as the office of Assemblywoman Hwang Jeonga, a local member of the Budget and Accounts Special Committee, to request cooperation on securing next year's national budget and other regional issues.

View original imageFinally, he met with the People Power Party leadership, including Jang Donghyuk, Party Leader; Song Eonseok, Floor Leader; and Kim Doeup, Policy Committee Chair, to explain Daejeon's major projects and request their special interest and support.
During his meetings with lawmakers from both parties, Mayor Lee Jangwoo stated, "Support from the central government is absolutely essential for Daejeon to take a significant leap forward," and asked, "Please cooperate so that as much national funding as possible can be allocated to Daejeon's key projects."

Mayor Lee Jangwoo said, "Although it is difficult to secure government funding due to the government's fiscal soundness policy, I will do my utmost to secure national funding through bipartisan cooperation with lawmakers during this visit."
