On the second day, November 28, the focus will shift to field-based technology and commercialization strategies, such as next-generation gene therapy development, natural product and AI convergence, marine bio research, and regional open innovation case studies. Through these sessions, new directions are expected to be presented for the southwest region’s biohealthcare sector, including the utilization of local clinical and manufacturing infrastructure, regulatory innovation, and the establishment of a corporate growth ecosystem.
Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency have recently been expanding the foundation of the biohealth industry through various initiatives, such as strengthening regional research capabilities, providing enterprise development package support, and establishing bio-specialized complexes. This event will also serve as a platform that links the region’s research, production, and commercialization functions, playing a key role in advancing the southwest region’s bio ecosystem in line with the K-Biohealth Regional Center support system and the development of the Hwasun Bio Advanced Industrial Complex.
Yoon Hoyul, Director of the Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "This conference will be the starting point for showcasing the potential of the southwest region’s biohealth sector both domestically and internationally, and for presenting a growth model for the future bio industry.
