Deuce to Release First New Song in 28 Years, Reviving Late Kim Sungjae's Voice with AI
New Song "Rise" to Be Released on the 27th
The hip-hop duo Deuce, who enjoyed great popularity in the 1990s, is set to release a new song after 28 years. The late Kim Sungjae's voice will be restored using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and featured in the track.
On November 19, Wide Company, the entertainment agency led by Deuce member Lee Hyundo, announced that Deuce will release the new song "Rise" from their fourth full-length album project at 6 p.m. on November 27. This marks Deuce's first new song release in 28 years since "Love, Fear," which was included in their 1997 best album.
Formed in 1993, Deuce produced hit songs such as "Turn Around and Look at Me" and "In Summer," but announced their disbandment in 1995. That same year, member Kim Sungjae also suddenly passed away.
For this new song, Deuce plans to recreate the group's signature emotional style by restoring Kim Sungjae's voice through AI technology. In partnership with the voice AI specialist company SoriSoriAI, they jointly developed an engine to replicate the tone and texture of his voice, successfully bringing Kim Sungjae's vocals back to life.
