Gwangmyeong City Discloses List of 290 Major and Habitual Tax Delinquents
For Those Delinquent for Over a Year on Local Taxes or Non-Tax Revenues
Applies to Individuals Owing More Than 10 Million Won
On November 19, the city of Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, publicly released the names of 290 individuals with large and habitual delinquencies in local taxes and non-tax revenues on the city hall website.
The list includes those who have been delinquent for more than one year on local taxes and non-tax revenue items such as administrative penalties or surcharges, with overdue amounts of at least 10 million won.
The list consists of 240 previously disclosed individuals (with total arrears of approximately 17.9 billion won) and 50 newly added individuals (with arrears of around 1.7 billion won). Names, ages, addresses, and amounts in arrears are among the details made public.
The city finalized the list after two rounds of review by the Gyeonggi Provincial Local Tax Delinquency Review Committee. The list can be checked via the Wetax shortcut linked in banners on the Gwangmyeong City Hall and Gyeonggi Provincial Government websites.
However, as of January 1 this year, 14 individuals who were initially included in the disclosure list but have since paid more than 50% of their arrears following continued payment encouragement have been excluded from the final disclosure.
