Dongducheon City Conducting Citizen Survey for 'Top 10 News of 2025' Until the 24th

Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyungdeok) announced on November 19 that it will conduct a survey titled 'Top 10 News That Shined Dongducheon City in 2025' to select the most notable city government issues reported in the media throughout the year that have garnered the greatest interest and sympathy from citizens. This survey was designed to share the city's achievements with citizens and to strengthen open, communicative governance by allowing citizens to directly evaluate city policies.

The survey period runs for seven days, from November 18 to November 24, and any Dongducheon citizen can participate. The participation method is simple: citizens can access the online survey through the Dongducheon City website and conveniently select three out of twenty major news stories reported this year, without any ranking, making it easy for anyone to take part.

The twenty representative news items presented in this survey include a record-high amount of national and provincial funding secured, selection for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's '2025 Specialized Public Rental Housing' project, the full-scale expansion and development of Soyo Mountain, elevation to a leading area for the Educational Development Special Zone, improvements to the streetscape of Peace Road, construction of a multi-purpose parking center, creation of a walking trail along Wangbang Valley, and the operation of the youth growth platform 'Cheongullim,' among others. These stories showcase the major achievements and changes in Dongducheon this year across a variety of fields.

Park Hyungdeok, Mayor of Dongducheon City, stated, "This year's achievements in city governance were only possible thanks to the interest and participation of our citizens," emphasizing, "As this is a meaningful survey in which citizens themselves make the selections, I hope many will participate."
