Employee Injured During Crackdown, Face Slammed to the Ground
As U.S. immigration authorities conduct large-scale immigration raids in Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina, it has been revealed that a supermarket run by a Korean immigrant family has been affected.
On the 17th, local media outlet The New York Times reported that at around 2 p.m. two days earlier, U.S. Border Patrol agents stormed the Pineville branch of the Super G Mart supermarket chain. The agents arrived in sport utility vehicles, and after getting out of their vehicles, they forced the store employees outside all at once.

The commotion caused not only the store staff but also Korean customers to scream and flee, while high school student cashiers working at the checkout counter hid in the restroom. The immigration raid continued into the following day.
Peter Han, Vice President of the Super G Mart Pineville branch, stated, "More than half of our eighty employees are unable to work due to anxiety."
The Border Patrol announced that it had launched a large-scale immigration crackdown in Charlotte starting on the 15th, and that eighty-one people had been arrested in just one day.
According to the immigrant advocacy group Siembra NC, this is one of the largest immigration raids ever conducted in North Carolina.
