Jindo and Yeosu Marine Safety Hubs Sign MOU for Educational Cooperation
Accelerating Youth Survival Skills and the Spread of Marine Safety Culture
Jindo National Marine Safety Center in South Jeolla Province and Yeosu City Youth Marine Education Center have established a collaborative system to strengthen marine safety awareness and survival skills among youth. The two organizations plan to expand their roles as regional hubs for marine safety by operating joint programs that combine education and hands-on experiences.

View original imageOn the morning of November 14, the two organizations signed a "Marine Safety Education Promotion Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)" at the Jindo National Marine Safety Center in Imhoe-myeon, Jindo County, South Jeolla Province. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Minseo, Operating Director, Oh Sekyung, Director, and other officials from both sides.
This agreement was pursued in response to the growing need to strengthen linkages between marine safety education and experiential programs for youth, expand region-based cooperation networks, and promote active personnel exchanges. The two organizations agreed to cooperate in a wide range of areas, including joint program development, collaboration on job training, information sharing, personnel exchanges through seminars and forums, and joint publicity efforts.
Through this agreement, both institutions will be able to offer a wider variety of experiential education programs by utilizing their respective regional bases in Jindo and Yeosu. Synergy effects are also expected, such as the joint development of new content, increased participant engagement in events, and the establishment of mutual human networks.
Kim Minseo, Operating Director of Jindo National Marine Safety Center, stated, "We will do our best to ensure that students acquire survival skills through practical marine safety education."
Oh Sekyung, Director of Yeosu City Youth Marine Education Center, emphasized, "Marine safety is a fundamental competency that students must possess," adding, "I hope this agreement will lead to more experiential opportunities and the strengthening of future capabilities."
