'2025 Daejeon Design Festa' Brings Together Local Design Industry, Public, and Educational Sectors
To Be Held at Hannam University Campus Innovation Park from November 27 to 29
The '2025 Daejeon Design Festa,' where visitors can experience the achievements of the local design industry as well as the public, local, and educational sectors in one place, will open on November 27 at the Hannam University Campus Innovation Park.
This event, held under the theme 'Design for Happy Daejeon,' will serve as a platform for exchange where designers, experts from industry, academia, and research institutes in the design field, local companies, universities, citizens, and local government officials will come together to explore the future of the city and region from a design perspective.
The exhibition hall will consist of five concept zones: H, A, P, P, and Y, providing a comprehensive introduction to the entire local design ecosystem.
The H Zone will showcase the 'Daejeon Design Hotspot' project and examples of product development using Daejeon's local culture and tourism brands, highlighting the potential of local design.
The A Zone will feature award-winning works from the 'Daejeon Design Awards' and cases of convergence between design, science, and future technologies, shedding light on the future-oriented value of design.
The P Zone will present the achievements of various support projects aimed at innovating the local business and industrial ecosystem. In the P (Public) Zone, the role of design in elevating the quality of the city will be introduced through public design projects that citizens can experience, such as local branding, public facility development, and public design related to the 2026 World Solar Congress.
The Y Zone will share the results of the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE) project, featuring outcomes from five universities (Daejeon University, Mokwon University, Paichai University, Chungnam National University, and Hannam University), as well as practical projects by students participating in the World-Class Designer Development Project (KDM+), showcasing achievements in nurturing future design talent.
The main events will begin with the opening and awards ceremony at 3:00 p.m. on November 27, followed by a design forum from 4:00 p.m. to 5:10 p.m. under the theme 'Narratives of the City: Design Connecting Places and Communities.'
Professor Lee Jangsub from Seoul National University's Department of Design and Professor Choi Sungho from Hanyang Cyber University's Department of Architectural Space Design will participate as speakers, engaging in an in-depth discussion on urban spaces, communities, and the role of design.
Additionally, on November 28, starting at 10:00 a.m., a 'Children's Design Festival' will be held for kindergarteners under the theme 'Drawing a Happy Daejeon.' In the afternoon, a 'Designer Business Consultation' for companies and a 'Designer Employment Consultation' for job seekers in the design field will take place in the Media Room of Building B at the Hannam University Campus Innovation Park.
