Oh Sehoon: "Han River Bus Project Is Underway... Please Wait Just Six Months"
"Democratic Party Scrutinizes Ongoing Projects Under a Microscope"
Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon has asked the Democratic Party of Korea, which continues to criticize the Han River Bus incident, to “wait just six months until a conclusion is reached.”
On the morning of November 18, during a Seoul Metropolitan Council session, Mayor Oh responded to council member Park Yujin’s questions regarding the Han River Bus project by saying, “When working, there are projects that proceed as planned, projects that are delayed, and sometimes there are unintended side effects. That is the reality.”
Mayor Oh continued, “If you scrutinize an ongoing project under a microscope, you will inevitably find various issues. Even private companies do not operate this way. They wait until the outcome is clear.”
Regarding the Han River Bus stoppage incident near Jamsil Pier on November 15, he said, “That was a human error,” and added, “I feel sorry that the Han River Bus project did not proceed as scheduled.”
When Council Member Park asked, “Who wanted the Han River Bus project, what caused the delays, and who is responsible?” Mayor Oh replied, “Why does the Democratic Party keep insisting that the Han River Bus project is driven by my personal interests?”
He further stated, “When we were pursuing the successful Dongdaemun Design Plaza project, the Democratic Party also scrutinized it in this manner, opposed it, and made it difficult. Even when Sebitseom was completed and handed over, they shut it down. That is why such remarks are being made about the Democratic Party.”
