Uijeongbu City Breaks Ground on 'Buyong Park Golf Course'... A Step Toward a Healthier City With Citizens
Scheduled for Completion in the First Half of 2026
Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) has officially launched the development of the Buyong Park Golf Course on the site above the Buyong Tunnel, which had remained unused for a long time, and held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 17th at 100-35 San, Minlak-dong.

View original imageThis project was initiated to address gaps in sports welfare and to expand opportunities for participation in recreational sports. The city plans to enhance citizens' health and improve the quality of leisure life by providing a park golf course that anyone can easily enjoy.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by over 200 people, including park golf club members, local residents, the mayor, members of the National Assembly, and city council members. The event also featured a pre-ceremony performance by the acoustic guitar band "Chiyu" from the Singok Senior Welfare Center, highlighting the significance of a recreational sports space for middle-aged and older adults.
The Buyong Park Golf Course will be built on a 10,000-square-meter site within the sports park and will feature 18 holes, with a total project cost of approximately 3 billion won. In conjunction with the nearby picnic trail, walking paths will also be improved, and additional facilities such as shaded pergolas and benches will be provided for user convenience. Completion is targeted for the first half of 2026.
