Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) announced on the 18th that it had successfully completed all four regional residents' briefing sessions regarding the designation of special maintenance planned districts for the redevelopment of the aging Bundang planned city, with the fourth session for the Yatap and Imae-dong areas concluding on the 17th.

View original imageThis series of briefing sessions was held sequentially for each region: the first session (Leading District, October 30), the second session (Seongnam, Sunae, Bundang, and Jeongja-dong areas, November 7), the third session (Gumi and Geumgok-dong areas, November 10), and the fourth session (Yatap and Imae-dong areas, November 17). Each session was attended by hundreds of residents, demonstrating a high level of interest in the project.
During the sessions, the city provided detailed guidance on the procedures and future schedule for designating special maintenance planned districts, key considerations in establishing the maintenance plan, and the real estate measures announced on October 15. In addition, through a Q&A session, the city listened extensively to residents' questions, suggestions, and concerns, fostering open communication.
Residents requested that the leading district be designated within the year to secure the supply of 12,000 households for the second follow-up project. They also called for the prompt implementation of the second resident proposal announcement.
Seongnam City stated that it would carefully review the various opinions gathered during these briefing sessions and actively reflect them in the review of special maintenance district designation for the second follow-up project and in the process of establishing future maintenance plans.
