The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that, together with the Korea Tourism Organization, it will hold the "2025 Tourism Dure National Conference - Ieum Dure" event at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul on November 18.

Tourism Dure is a project that supports local residents in directly establishing and operating tourism businesses with unique characteristics in various fields such as accommodation, food and beverage, travel, and experiences. Since its launch in 2013, the project has discovered 195 Tourism Dure PDs and 1,350 resident businesses across 147 regions.

This year’s event will be attended by around 200 people, including Tourism Dure resident businesses from across the country, Tourism Dure PDs, and officials from related organizations. Participants will share the achievements of resident-led regional tourism and promote "connections (Ieum)" among attendees.

In the first part of the event, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism will present commendations and certificates to outstanding Tourism Dure resident businesses, Tourism Dure PDs, and local government officials for 2025. Awards will also be given to 13 youth teams that won the "2025 Tourism Dure Youth Resident Business Idea Contest," held from September to October. Additionally, plaques of appreciation will be presented to 13 Tourism Dure PDs who have contributed over the past five years, and there will be a celebratory performance.

In the second part of the event, for the first time this year, the "Tourism Dure Official Souvenir Experience Contest" will be held to officially brand outstanding products discovered through Tourism Dure and support their market expansion. Five souvenir teams and seven experience teams that passed the first document screening will participate. After presentations and voting, a total of five teams will be selected-two souvenir teams and three experience teams. The selected souvenirs and experience programs will receive practical benefits, such as priority purchase of souvenirs and designation as must-visit courses, when the 2026 Tourism Dure project is implemented.

Kim Geunho, Director of Tourism Industry Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "Ieum Dure is a meaningful occasion where Tourism Dure members from across the country share their experiences and confirm the value of connection. The Ministry will continue to provide strong support to establish regional cooperation systems so that resident-led regional tourism can take root and become self-sustaining."
