Professor Kim Suwan of Chonnam National University Hospital Inaugurated as President of the Korean Society of Hypertension
Chonnam National University Hospital announced on November 17 that Professor Kim Suwan of the Department of Nephrology has been elected as the 32nd President of the Korean Society of Hypertension and has officially taken office.
Professor Kim was elected as President of the Korean Society of Hypertension during the Autumn Academic Conference held at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul from November 6 to 8. The term of office is one year.
The newly appointed President Kim graduated from Chonnam National University College of Medicine and is currently serving as a professor in the Department of Nephrology at Chonnam National University Hospital. He is also the director of the Leading Research Center for Renal Disease Control and Dialysis Device Advancement, designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and a full member of the National Academy of Medicine of Korea, contributing to the academic advancement of the fields of nephrology and hypertension.

President Kim stated, "Since its founding in 1994, the Korean Society of Hypertension has established the academic foundation for hypertension research and led the standardization of clinical practice, growing into a leading academic organization in Korea. Amid the rapid aging of the population and the increasing burden of chronic diseases, the importance of hypertension management is being emphasized more than ever. I will strengthen both academic and social foundations so that we can make a tangible contribution to improving patients' quality of life and preventing cardiovascular diseases."
