Kim Yujin, a 29-year-old female athlete from the Gyeongsan City Hall Athletics Team, has made her mark in the history of South Korean women's middle- and long-distance running.
On November 15, at the 18th Nitaida Challenge Game held in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, Kim Yujin crossed the finish line in the women's 5000m event with a time of 15 minutes 33.07 seconds, breaking the Korean national record for the first time in 8 years and 4 months.
This achievement improved the previous record of 15 minutes 34.17 seconds by 1.10 seconds.
Currently a member of the national team, Kim Yujin has consistently trained and meticulously managed her condition in preparation for this record-breaking performance.
