Kyowon Red Pen announced on the 17th that it held the '2025 Doyosae English Speaking Contest' at the Kyowon Tour Building Concert Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 15th.
Now in its sixth year, the 'Doyosae English Speaking Contest' was established to help Doyosae English members in kindergarten and elementary school build confidence in speaking English and to provide an opportunity to verify their speaking skills. Up to this year's contest, approximately 80,000 Doyosae English members have participated, competing in their skills and engaging in communication and exchange with one another.
The preliminary round, which was held for about a month starting in July, saw around 1,000 participants evaluated, and 16 finalists were selected. The final round was then held at the Kyowon Tour Building Concert Hall, where a total of 16 winners were chosen in each category: Grand Prize (4 winners), Excellence Award (4 winners), and Merit Award (8 winners). A total of 8.4 million won in scholarships was awarded.
To ensure a rigorous evaluation, a panel of professors from the Department of English Education at Seoul National University of Education comprehensively assessed fluency, delivery, and content organization to select the winners in each category.
