Supporting Diverse Programs Including Career, Creativity, and Media Experiences
Buk-myeon Youth Culture Center to Undergo Remodeling in 2026

Inje County in Gangwon Province operates four Youth Culture Centers in Inje-eup, Nam-myeon, Buk-myeon, and Girin-myeon to support a variety of leisure and self-governance activities for local youth. Each facility not only provides spaces that young people can freely use, but also offers a range of experiential programs aimed at developing their capabilities and enhancing creativity and critical thinking skills.

Hands-on experiential activities such as baking and cooking, as well as programs tailored to the unique characteristics of each center, have been well received by local youth.

The Inje-eup Youth Culture Center operates career exploration-focused programs such as ITQ certification classes, while the Nam-myeon Youth Culture Center supports hands-on programs like craft activities. The Buk-myeon Youth Culture Center provides opportunities for self-development through music and learning-focused programs such as violin classes, and the Girin-myeon Youth Culture Center runs practical media programs like "I Am a YouTuber!" to provide content experiences tailored to youth interests.

The county is actively working to improve facilities to ensure not only the provision of high-quality programs but also a safe and pleasant environment for users. Last year, the Nam-myeon Youth Culture Center underwent major renovations, including waterproofing and insulation repairs and the replacement of signs and decks, to fully refurbish aging facilities.

In addition, the Buk-myeon Youth Culture Center is scheduled to undergo large-scale remodeling starting next year, with a project budget of 900 million won. Located in the Wontong-ri area of Buk-myeon, this facility has a total floor area of 759 square meters and is a three-story building. The upcoming renovations will include comprehensive waterproofing, replacement of finishing materials, and repairs to cracks in the basketball court.

The county plans to transform the Buk-myeon Youth Culture Center into a safe and comfortable youth-only space through this remodeling, and to further strengthen the foundation for operating a variety of programs in the future.

Choi Sangki, Mayor of Inje County, stated, "The Youth Culture Centers are places for learning and exchange for local youth," adding, "We will continue to make every effort to create safe and enjoyable spaces for young people by offering a diverse range of programs and improving facilities."
