HiteJinro Supports Vietnamese University Students with Scholarships for Six Consecutive Years
A Total of 110 Recipients Awarded 2 Billion Dong (Approximately 110 Million Korean Won)
HiteJinro, a leading comprehensive alcoholic beverage company in Korea, announced on the 17th that it held a scholarship award ceremony at Hanoi National University of Foreign Languages on the 13th, attended by CEO Kim Inkyu of HiteJinro and officials from the university. To encourage the dreams and ambitions of Vietnamese students, HiteJinro selected 20 students from Hanoi National University of Foreign Languages and awarded each of them a scholarship of 20 million dong, totaling 400 million dong (approximately 25 million Korean won).

View original imageHiteJinro’s scholarship program in Vietnam began in 2017 with the goal of fostering mutual growth with Vietnamese society, and this year marks its sixth anniversary. Vietnam was the first country to which Korean soju was exported, and HiteJinro accelerated its entry into the local market by establishing its first Southeast Asian overseas subsidiary in 2016. In 2018, the company added a branch in Ho Chi Minh City. As of last year, about 60% of soju exported from Korea to Vietnam was HiteJinro products. According to Euromonitor, Jinro soju ranked first in sales volume in the Vietnamese distilled spirits market for 2023-2024.
HiteJinro is currently constructing a production plant in the GREEN i-PARK industrial complex in Hung Yen Province, Vietnam. Once completed, the plant will serve as a key production and logistics hub, acting as a bridgehead for expanding into the global market.
