Siheung City and Gyeonggi Job Foundation to Hold 'Youth Engineer Development Forum' on the 27th
Discussion on Cooperation to Boost Employment and Strengthen the Settlement Foundation
Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province, in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Job Foundation, will host the '2025 Youth Engineer Development Forum' at Seoul National University Siheung Campus on November 27, 2025.
This forum, held under the theme of 'Growth and Settlement Roadmap for Young Engineers,' aims to seek industry-government-academia cooperation strategies to revitalize youth employment in industrial complexes and strengthen the foundation for local settlement.
The forum will be attended by approximately 70 participants, including Park Seungsam, Deputy Mayor of Siheung, members of the Siheung City Council, officials from the Gyeonggi Job Foundation and Siheung Industry Promotion Agency, as well as representatives from local companies, universities, teachers, and students.
The event will feature presentations on the achievements of this year's youth engineer development project, the results of a youth employment status survey, and research on development models. This will be followed by a discussion involving Korea Polytechnic University, Suwon Office of Education, Siheung Materials, Parts, and Equipment Business Association, company representatives, and current students.
The 'Youth Engineer Development Project' is a pilot program jointly operated by the city and the foundation, linked with 'early employment contract departments.' Participating youth are guaranteed employment with a company upon admission and begin to balance work and study from their second year. Participants receive a settlement allowance of up to 300,000 won per month, and companies are supported with 80% of tuition fees.
