Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on the 17th that it will send out a batch of delinquency notices in order to encourage the faithful payment of outstanding non-tax revenues and to establish a fair tax culture.
This notice will be sent to 5,229 individuals who have not paid non-tax revenue charges from previous years, with the total amount of arrears reaching 14.9 billion won.
Recipients are encouraged to make voluntary payments by the due date of December 1, and a variety of payment methods will be provided for convenience, including virtual accounts, credit cards, Wetax electronic payment numbers, and ARS (automated response system).
The city plans to actively resolve non-tax revenue arrears through this measure, thereby strengthening its revenue base and promoting sound fiscal management.
Furthermore, if payment is not made even after the deadline, the city will swiftly implement strong collection procedures, such as seizure of vehicles and real estate, as well as garnishment of wages and accounts receivable, to realize tax justice.
