Consumers who purchase domestic seafood at any of the 135 seafood vendors inside Sokcho Tourism and Fisheries Market can submit their same-day receipt at the refund booth located in the seafood cultural complex space (2nd floor of the market) to receive either a 10,000 won or 20,000 won Onnuri gift certificate, depending on the purchase amount. If the same-day purchase amount is between 34,000 won and less than 67,000 won, customers will receive 10,000 won; if it is 67,000 won or more, they will receive 20,000 won.
However, imported seafood, processed seafood products with less than 70% domestic content, and seafood purchased with Zero Pay Seafood Festival gift certificates are excluded from the refund program.
Meanwhile, Sokcho City has previously held five refund events. These events, timed around holidays, Family Month, and vacation season, have received a positive response from both consumers and merchants, and are credited with boosting the consumption of domestic seafood. This will be the last refund event of the year.
