This book is a specialized academic work focusing on the areas of nutrition education and counseling within the field of food and nutrition. It was co-authored by Professors Hyun Taeseon (Chungbuk National University), Kim Girang (Dankook University), Park Sohyun (Hallym University), Song Sujin (Hannam University), Song Yoonju (Catholic University of Korea), Yoo Hyunju (Food Ecology Culture Association), Hwang Jiyoon (Sangmyung University), and Choi Kyungsook (Daejin University). The first edition was published on March 13, 2025, by Powerbook.

In particular, this book received high praise for its in-depth exploration of the fundamental principles and theories underlying phenomena that previous nutrition textbooks have not addressed, as well as for providing a robust scientific foundation that enables practitioners to conduct strategic nutrition counseling tailored to individual needs. It is the only book in the field of food and nutrition to be honored with selection for the Sejong Books this year.

The Sejong Books support program is organized by the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea. It selects outstanding academic books first published in Korea based on multidimensional criteria such as planning, content, editing, completeness, challenge, and originality.

The selected books will be distributed between January and February 2026 to public libraries, social welfare facilities, humanities and cultural centers, and overseas cultural centers nationwide. This is expected to further enhance the public value of academic contributions by reaching international readers and underserved groups in Korea.
