Military to Conduct 2025 Hoguk Exercise from November 17 to 21
The South Korean military will conduct the '2025 Hoguk Exercise' starting on November 17.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on November 13 that the military will carry out the 2025 Hoguk Exercise from November 17 to 21 to enhance its joint operational capabilities and establish a robust military readiness posture. The Hoguk Exercise is an annual defensive drill.
During this year's Hoguk Exercise, the military plans to strengthen jointness and realism by integrating joint forces across land, sea, and air domains. Some United States Forces Korea units will also participate to improve interoperability in combined operations.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, "This exercise will improve our ability to carry out missions during both wartime and peacetime, and establish a firm readiness posture by conducting realistic field maneuver training, including the use of an opposing force and bilateral drills, in consideration of recent trends in warfare and real-world threats."
