Jo Jooyong, Senior Researcher at the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, delivered a keynote presentation on the status of drone-related facilities and workforce supply nationwide. He announced plans to expand programs for future talent, including corporate employees and university students.
Kim Suhan, Professor at Korea Aerospace University, emphasized the need to transition to software-focused universities and to cultivate convergent talent capable of immediately contributing to the industry.
Seo Ilsu, Secretary-General of the Korea Drone Innovation Association, introduced recent trends in drone warfare and weaponry around the world, and explained the Ministry of National Defense's step-by-step strategies for domestic drone weapon development and advanced workforce training.
Lee Daesu, Vice President of Asseta Co., Ltd., who delivered the final presentation, outlined the qualities sought by small and medium-sized enterprises in the drone sector, and presented, from a corporate perspective, the skills and experience required by companies and how to prepare for them.
Hyuncheol Lee, Researcher at Hanwha Aerospace and designated panelist, advised, "Rather than aiming for large corporations from the start, it is also a viable strategy to build skills and field experience at startups and small and medium-sized enterprises before moving on. Now is the time for convergent thinking, honing technologies that can be integrated with AI."
