NCSoft’s "Aion 2" Evolves the Original and Delivers the Thrill of Manual Combat
Experience "Urugugu Canyon" at G-Star
Building on the Original with New Features like Post-Judgment System
From over 200 character customization options-including body shape, skin, and iris-to a variety of movement methods such as gliding through the sky and diving underwater, "Aion 2" offers an engaging experience. The system, which determines attack success at the actual moment of impact (post-judgment), allows players to experience tense and highly realistic battles.
NCSoft’s highly anticipated title for the second half of this year, "Aion 2," will officially launch in Korea and Taiwan on November 19. Prior to this, it will be available for hands-on play at "G-Star 2025" in Busan from November 13 to 16. The demo build features the "Urugugu Canyon," which is originally an instance dungeon designed for four players, but for convenience, it can be experienced solo.
On October 29, at the NCSoft R&D Center in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, a preview session for "Aion 2" showcased its high-quality graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5. The storyline, which continues the original’s themes of the conflict between the Elyos and Asmodians and the collapse of the Aion Tower over time, further enhances immersion.
Unlike typical massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), "Aion 2" excludes auto-battle support, allowing players to enjoy the tactile feel of manual combat. Movement, dashing, jumping, flying, and various skills all require active keyboard input, keeping players’ hands busy. Basic attacks are performed by clicking the left mouse button. Most skills can be used while moving, resulting in a smooth combat experience.
Kim Namjoon, the development producer of "Aion 2," stated, "The original PC version of Aion received high praise for its player-versus-player (PvP) content, and we have maintained that aspect while also working to develop the game in line with current trends such as player-versus-environment (PvE)." He emphasized that, as "Aion" is one of NCSoft’s flagship intellectual properties (IP), the team worked hard to create a new game without compromising the original.
