'67': An Online Meme Originating Among American Teenagers
Dictionary.com, the American online dictionary site, has selected '67' as its Word of the Year.
On November 10, Yonhap News, citing the Associated Press, reported that '67' is an online meme that originated among American teenagers. The term is written as '67' or '6-7' and pronounced 'six-seven'.

The term gained popularity after the song appeared in a TikTok video featuring LaMelo Ball, an NBA player who stands 6 feet 7 inches (approximately 200.6 cm) tall. Since then, '67' has become widely used and has turned into slang among members of Generation Alpha (those born after 2010).
Dictionary.com described the term as an 'ambiguous slang', while Merriam-Webster defined it as a 'meaningless expression used by teenagers'.
Teenagers use this word along with a gesture that mimics juggling with both hands, to mean 'so-so' or 'it could go either way'. It is also used to express dissatisfaction when questioned by adults.
Dictionary.com explained that this word has all the characteristics of 'brain rot', but also noted, "It has meaning in that it creates a sense of connection among those who use it."
