Uijeongbu Hosts the 9th Nongcheong Cheerful Sports Day
Promoting Inclusion and Unity for People With and Without Disabilities
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun), held the 9th Nongcheong Cheerful Sports Day on November 8 at the Life Gymnastics Square near Balgoek Station on the light rail. The event brought together more than 80 participants, including people with hearing and speech impairments as well as non-disabled individuals.

View original imageThis event, organized by the Uijeongbu City Branch of the Korean Association of the Deaf, was designed to promote the rights and social participation of deaf individuals in the region, while also serving as a venue for unity and communication between people with and without disabilities.
The sports day featured a variety of programs, including a commemorative ceremony, a walking event, hula hooping, and beanbag tossing. Notably, the 2.5km walking event, conducted with a sports instructor, provided a meaningful opportunity for people with and without disabilities to bond and enjoy the autumn scenery along the Jungnangcheon stream together.
